The China Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is an annual international competition promoted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and Chinese local governments, aimed at facilitating the entry into the Chinese market of talents, startups, and high-tech enterprises from abroad.
In the 2023 and 2024 editions, SPICI actively participated in the initiative by organizing the European and Italian Semifinals of the competition, which took place in Rome in 2023 and Naples in 2024, promoting direct interaction between companies, institutions, and players in the Italian-Chinese innovation ecosystem.
SPICI promoted the initiative through careful scouting, selection, and support for over 100 startups, university spin-offs, and innovative SMEs in Italy and Europe, assisting them in the application process, presentation, and access to opportunities offered by the Chinese market.
SPICI also supported the coordination and accompaniment of the Italian delegations to the Final Competition in China (Hefei 2023 and Nanning 2024), as well as the organization of exploratory missions in various strategic cities, such as Beijing, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Xi’an, and Jinan.
Through these activities, SPICI provided structured support for matchmaking between Italian and European companies and Chinese counterparts, contributing to the creation of industrial, technological, and commercial collaboration opportunities.
