AfriLabs Annual Gathering 2025 – Nairobi, Kenya

From 13 to 15 October 2025, Chiara Romano represented Fabbrica Italiana dell’Innovazione and SPICI at the AfriLabs Annual Gathering 2025, hosted at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, the leading African event dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship, promoted by AfriLabs, the largest pan-African network of tech hubs.

During the event, SPICI and Fabbrica Italiana dell’Innovazione were selected, along with four other European hubs, to participate in the Africa–Europe Innovation Platform Twinning Program, establishing strategic twinning with some African hubs, including Duapa Werkspace (Ghana) and others in Tunisia and Algeria, aimed at strengthening cooperation between African and European innovation ecosystems.

The Annual Gathering involved over 500 innovation leaders from more than 50 countries, with sessions dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, public policy, inclusion, green and blue economy, and digital creativity, fostering new connections, collaboration opportunities, and international exchanges. The program concluded with a visit to Konza Technopolis, an emerging model of smart city and technology hub in Kenya.
