On the occasion of the 2025 Edition of the CI-LAM (China–Italy Joint Laboratory on Advanced Manufacturing), SPICI participated in the program's activities as an industrial partner, contributing to the enhancement of technology transfer and entrepreneurial culture between Italy and China.
As part of the initiative, SPICI organized the “CI-LAM Business Creation Hackathon (2025)”: a Hackathon on business creation at the Italian Innovation Hub, involving over 80 Italian and Chinese students and researchers, in collaboration with the DIETI – Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Naples Federico II.
The activity promoted interdisciplinary and intercultural exchange on innovation, advanced manufacturing, and the development of technological business models, strengthening the dialogue between research, industry, and entrepreneurship.
The event also included institutional and academic representatives, such as Regione Campania, the University of Bergamo, Tsinghua University in Beijing, Beijing University of Technology, and the China SciTech Automation Alliance, helping to consolidate the international network of CI-LAM.
Founded in 2017 with the signing of a Strategic Agreement during the Italy-China Week on Science, Technology and Innovation, in the presence of MIUR and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, CI-LAM is recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) as the main platform for cooperation between Italy and China in the field of Advanced Manufacturing.
CI-LAM's activities will continue in 2026, with a Summer School organized in Beijing and Shanghai in the summer.
