Project description
The EDIH Heritage Smart Lab is one of the 136 European Digital Innovation Hubs funded by the European Commission with the aim of accelerating the digital transformation of SMEs and the Public Administration, with a particular focus on the fields of Artificial Intelligence, High-Performance Computing and Cybersecurity. Thanks to its multidisciplinary structure, the laboratory supports the digitalisation of enterprises, improving the efficiency and competitiveness of the services offered.
With offices in Naples, Matera and Bari, Heritage Smart Lab is the only hub in Italy entirely dedicated to the digital transformation of Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries, a key sector in the Smart Specialisation Strategies of Campania, Basilicata and Puglia. Located in East Naples, the centre serves as a reference point for Italian and European startups, SMEs and Public Administrations, offering a wide range of services for testing, funding, advanced training and collaborative innovation. The laboratory's activities include digital prototyping, Open Innovation programmes, technology brokering, matchmaking between supply and demand for innovation, networking and sector events, contributing to the growth of the cultural and creative ecosystem.
SPICI plays a key role within the Heritage Smart Lab, providing advanced solutions and services for the digitisation of the cultural and creative sectors. The services provided by SPICI are:
FOR THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
TEST BEFORE INVESTMENT
Technology Intervention Design: Designing technological solutions to improve services and organisational processes in the field of cultural and creative heritage and services.
Technology scouting: Scouting for existing digital solutions to meet specific needs of the Public Administration.
Proof of Concept (PoC): Development of an initial simplified and testable version of the product or service, to evaluate its feasibility and increase its technology readiness level (TRL).
Prototype Development: Support for the creation and testing of a technological prototype, managing its design and functional aspects in a real-world context.
NETWORKING
Demo Day for the Public Administration: A networking day bringing together Public Administrations, innovators and technology providers.
FOR BUSINESSES
TEST BEFORE INVESTMENT
Audit and Technology Guidance: An assessment and technology/functional guidance journey, aimed at enhancing and upgrading a solution through AI and, more generally, emerging technologies.
