Digital transition in Campanian municipalities: SPICI and ANCI Campania sign an agreement for the implementation of the European EDIH Hub – Heritage Smart Lab

SPICI S.r.l. and ANCI Campania have signed a strategic Implementing Agreement to strengthen collaboration in favour of the digital transition of Campanian municipalities. The agreement aims to promote the services offered by the Campanian Spoke of the European Digital Innovation Hub Heritage Smart Lab (EDIH-HSL), within the scope of the European Commission's Digital Europe programme.

Co-financed by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, the EDIH-HSL Hub operates in Campania, Basilicata and Puglia, and is coordinated by Basilicata Creativa in partnership with strategic players in innovation and research. The Campanian Spoke, composed of SPICI, Meditech Competence Center and Iniziativa S.r.l., is based at the Italian Innovation Factory in Naples.

With its 550 municipalities, Campania is one of the most complex Italian regions due to its territorial, economic, and social diversity. The agreement with ANCI Campania is part of this context with the aim of providing operational tools and technological skills to local administrations, supporting their path towards modernising services to be more effective, inclusive, and sustainable.

The agreement provides for the activation of targeted and high-value-added services to support the municipalities in the modernisation of cultural, touristic, and administrative services. Activities include support in the design of digital interventions, the enhancement of cultural heritage, the development of cultural projects with social impact, data utilisation for intelligent management of public services, and technological scouting. Among the proposed solutions are, for example: – tools for the smart management of cultural eventsgamification technologies for civic engagementmulti-platform storytelling systems for tourist itineraries – the integration of digital applications already developed by municipalities

In particular, the agreement provides up to 20 free design and technological orientation interventions for municipalities in the ANCI Campania network, which can be accessed by expressing interest through the hub's official portal: www.heritagesmartlab.it/opportunita-per-le-pa

A SPICI–ANCI Joint Working Group will constantly monitor the progress of activities, facilitate the creation of new project opportunities, and assess the impact of the developed initiatives, with the goal of strengthening the synergy between public bodies and innovation actors.

The agreement thus positions itself as a national best practice of interinstitutional cooperation, in line with European strategies for the digitalisation of Public Administration, the enhancement of cultural heritage, and the sustainable development of territories.
