SPICI organizes the visit for the delegation from the Campania Region to the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Centre

Thanks to the network of contacts in the United Arab Emirates, SPICI organised for the delegation of the Campania Region the visit to the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, led by the Regional Councillor for Research and Innovation, Dr. Valeria Fascione and Prof. Nicolais, Adviser for Innovation to the Minister of University and Research, along with a substantial delegation of innovators from Campania.

Established in 2016 by royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, SRTI Park develops and manages an innovation ecosystem to promote research and development, and support business activities, utilising the triple helix collaboration of industry, government, and academia.

The park nurtures and connects talents from over 150 major academic institutions, companies, and start-ups, providing a favourable environment for creativity, research, and innovation.

The CEO of the park, Mr. Hussain Al Mahmoudi, welcomed the delegation, illustrating the priority sectors of intervention, the Park's services, and the latest projects initiated.

The 6 areas on which intervention activities are based include:

• water management,

• renewable energy,

• environmental technology,

• transport & logistics,

• digitalization and smart manufacturing.

Among the services offered are business support activities, networking opportunities, hi-tech offices, and co-working spaces, and among the research projects initiated are: USKY for smart transport, Green Homes, houses built with polymeric compounds and aerospace technology, CAFU the region's first on-demand mobile fuel application.

Sharjah Open Innovation Lab (SoiLAB), located in the heart of the park, is the hub for innovation and technical workspace, ensuring ideas are translated into products, with the support of qualified technicians. The space is equipped with various machinery and equipment and open to students, artists, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts.

All delegates were extremely satisfied with the visit, finding numerous possible opportunities for future collaborations.
