SPICI & EDIH - Heritage Smart Lab: Call for Talent Academy on Gaming and Immersive Storytelling

In an era where digital technologies are rapidly advancing, the Digital Europe Programme 2021-2027, promoted by the European Commission, has established a network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) to support businesses and Public Administrations in their digital transformation. Among these, the EDIH-Heritage Smart Lab stands out as the only hub in Italy entirely dedicated to the digital transition in the sector of Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries.

Talent Academy: submit your company

As a partner of EDIH-Heritage Smart Lab, SPICI launches a Call for businesses to participate in the Talent Academy on Gaming and Immersive Storytelling, which will be held on 16 and 17 December 2024 at the Polo Tecnologico Fabbrica Italiana dell’Innovazione in Naples.

This intensive programme, organised in collaboration with the MIAT-Multiverse Institute for Arts and Technology, structured in training modules (some of which are in English), aims to develop advanced skills and provide practical tools for:

• Utilising Artificial Intelligence technologies to generate stories and images and expand narrative worlds.

• Understanding the basics of the Metaverse and Web3 strategies for business transformation.

• Applying emerging technologies to improve business processes of SMEs.

• Exploring international applications of XR technologies.

• Developing Gaming or Immersive Storytelling projects.

Who can participate in the Call

The Call is open to all companies, startups**, SMEs, and large businesses** in the cultural and creative sector.

David Bassuk is a Professor of Theatre, Transmedia and Immersive Experience Design at Purchase College, State University of New York. Bassuk specializes in the exploration of spatial storytelling in both live and virtual contexts, focusing on developing meaningful and engaging interactions between designers and participants through the use of multiple technologies in themed performances and experiences.
