First working group on strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between Iran, China, and Italy

On 2nd August 2021, the workshop titled "Strengthening Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Italy, China, and Iran" was held.
This was the first event organized following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by SPICI, ITTN, and IRAMOT to consolidate collaboration and co-create joint programs of technological cooperation and innovation between Italy, China, and Iran.
The event was coordinated by SPICI and jointly promoted by the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN), an organization founded under the aegis of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and the Iranian Association for Management of Technology and Innovation (IRAMOT), the non-profit organization that promotes education, training, and research in the fields of technology management and innovation.
The workshop involved members of the Iranian scientific ecosystem and focused on presenting the European and Chinese contexts of innovation and policies supporting science and technology.
The proceedings were opened by Dr. Mitra Aminlou, General Secretary of IRAMOT.
Dr. Kamran Bagheri, Head of the International Committee of IRAMOT, presented IRAMOT and the opportunities offered by the Iranian innovation ecosystem with a focus on existing collaboration with Italy.
Dr. John Zhang, General Secretary of ITTN, presented the Chinese innovation ecosystem and some successful international cooperation initiatives before providing an overview of Chinese policies in the field of science, technology, and innovation.
Dr. Vincenzo Lipardi, President of SPICI, and Dr. Chiara Romano, Head of the Internationalisation Department, presented the European innovation network and collaboration opportunities, particularly with China and Iran. They also discussed upcoming internationalisation programs that SPICI coordinates with both countries, emphasising its role as an international hub.
During the event, all the speakers reiterated the desire to strengthen cooperation between their respective organizations through the creation of joint programs and projects in the fields of technology and innovation.
