Not Only Stories: Digital Storytelling between Culture, Business and Creativity at the Italian Factory of Innovation in Naples

On 22 May 2025, at the Polo Tecnologico Fabbrica Italiana dell'Innovazione in Naples, "Not Just Stories: Digital Storytelling between Culture, Business and Creativity" will take place, an event aimed at exploring the new frontiers of digital storytelling and its connections with culture, business, and technological innovation. The initiative is promoted by SPICI srl and Fabbrica Italiana dell'Innovazione, in collaboration with Infiniti Mondi – Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Napoli and EDIH – Heritage Smart Lab, and it is created to enhance new forms of digital storytelling as tools for cultural transformation and social innovation, with a particular focus on the strategic role of Naples as an innovation hub in the Mediterranean.
The presentation of the book on Digital Storytelling by Matilde De Feo
On this occasion, the book "Digital storytelling and non-linear narrative - Spatialisation and the end of drama", edited by Matilde De Feo, a professor of Multimedia Design at the Academy of Fine Arts of Reggio Calabria, will be presented and discussed. This book, published by Edizioni Meltemi, represents a fundamental contribution for those wishing to explore the potential of non-linear narratives, challenging traditional storytelling conventions and opening new spaces for digital imagination. As highlighted by Luigi Amodio, Head of Education and Training at SPICI srl and professor of Digital Media at the University Federico II of Naples, who will moderate the meeting: _"Digital technologies open new possibilities for storytelling practices, certainly democratizing them, but at the same time requiring new skills and specialisations from industry players. This theme is very relevant on an economic and industrial level in a city that is increasingly a set for film and television productions."
