On Thursday 7 May 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Fabbrica Italiana dell’Innovazione hosted the meeting “From research to enterprise, starting from the San Giovanni Innovation District”, a discussion with CeSMA and SPICI to jointly build the first shared projects following the signing of an important collaboration agreement.

The initiative represented a concrete step towards strengthening connections between universities, research, businesses, start-ups and the local area, contributing to the development of an open, collaborative and impact-driven ecosystem in the context of the emerging San Giovanni Innovation District.

After the introduction by Vincenzo Lipardi, General Manager of Fabbrica Italiana dell’Innovazione and President of SPICI, and the speech by Domenico Accardo, Director of CeSMA, the discussion explored the joint areas of work, starting from the signed collaboration agreement, through which SPICI and Fabbrica will work with CeSMA in order to spark cross-pollination between their respective expertise in entrepreneurial and research topics.

During the meeting, the main opportunities that SPICI and Fabbrica offer to the university and research system were presented, namely laboratories and technological expertise through the Digital Workshop department; specialist AI training activities through the Social Innovation department; internationalisation and European project design opportunities through the respective departments; and project dissemination and storytelling methodologies. The open innovation hub model, connected to large companies, as well as incubation and acceleration activities, were also explored in greater depth.

The collaboration journey will continue with the identification of the first joint projects and the activation of the first synergistic areas of work, contributing to the strengthening of the San Giovanni Innovation District as an open, collaborative ecosystem focused on the economic and social impact on the city of Naples, with an international outlook.
