2021 Innovation China Technology Roadshows: concluded in Wenzhou the stage that involved 5 European startups on the theme of health

On 29th July, the stage of the 2021 Innovation China Technology Roadshows concluded in Wenzhou. The programme represents an important international collaboration platform on science, innovation, and new technologies.

Promoted by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the programme was created to promote the exchange of knowledge, talent, and skills and to foster connections between the research and industry sectors.

The city chosen to host the new stage of the roadshow was Wenzhou, one of the most economically developed areas of the southeastern province of Zhejiang, known for its entrepreneurial culture.

In 2021, Wenzhou was also included in the list of the second batch of pilot cities for "Science and Innovation China" by CAST.

Dedicated to the theme of health, the roadshow opened with contributions from various representatives of the Chinese and European innovation ecosystem. Following this, 5 European startups, spinoffs, and research groups presented their technological solutions to a wide audience of industrial representatives, research centres, tech parks, and Chinese investors.

Promete srl, the only Italian company present, whose participation was coordinated by SPICI, is a spinoff company of the National Institute for the Physics of Matter of the National Research Council. It presented the project "Photochemical immobilisation technology for biotechnology, food safety, and quality control".

The solutions and products presented by other companies included: medical cosmetics to treat acne by the Slovenian startup Jafaral, personalised cancer treatments by the English startup Vivian Therapeutics, new antiviral agents for HIV treatment by the University of Belgrade in Serbia, and a digital remote diagnosis solution for home care by the English startup DeepLab.
