OPEN LABS - THE SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE
Overview
Project promoted by the Municipality of Naples, organised by SPICI srl and created by Smart MaLiCo with the support of Meditech Competence Center, held between 4 November and 19 December 2025 at Infiniti Mondi - Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Napoli, inside the Real Albergo dei Poveri. The project introduced high schools, ITS and university students from Naples and the Metropolitan City to emerging technologies, digital creativity and new media languages, through workshops on the Metaverse, Digital Storytelling, Gaming & Gamification, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Production. Over the course of 14 days of activities, 53 workshops and training sessions were held, involving 1,136 students and over 50 accompanying teachers from 6 higher education institutions.
Objective
To bring students and teachers closer to emerging technologies and new digital and creative languages, developing skills in storytelling, critical thinking, and technological awareness, in a dialogue between historical memory and innovation.
Created as part of the Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Napoli (House of Emerging Technologies of Naples), promoted by the Municipality of Naples and funded by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT).
