Italian Innovation and Research Day - Awards Ceremony 'STEM Study Visit to Italy'

On 10th June, the presentation ceremony of the National Prize for the Best Georgian Innovators “STEM Study Visit to Italy” was held within the framework of the Italian Innovation and Research Day.
This was an online workshop attended by numerous representatives from the Italian and Georgian industrial and academic worlds, to share their experiences and reflections in the field of innovation and technology transfer.
The initiative "STEM Study Visit to Italy" aims to strengthen the international experience of young Georgian innovators in the field of technical-scientific research and to facilitate the implementation of joint initiatives and projects, with the goal of consolidating and expanding technological collaboration between Italy and Georgia.
The programme, launched in 2019, is an integral and qualifying part of the scientific and technological exchanges between Italy and Georgia and is based on the agreement promoted by the Italian side through the Italian Embassy in Tbilisi and the COTEC Foundation, in partnership with Materias, with the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology (GITA).
The proceedings were opened by Dr. Valeria Fascione, Councillor for Innovation and Startups of the Campania Region, followed by interventions from Italian Ambassador to Georgia HE Enrico Valvo, Vice Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Irakli Nadareishvili, President of the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology Dr. Avtandil Kasradze, President of the COTEC Foundation Prof. Luigi Nicolais, Prof. Giorgio Ventre from the University of Naples "Federico II” and Rector of the Business and Technology University of Georgia Prof. Nino Enukidze.
The event culminated in the award ceremony for Irina Tsagareishvili and Tsotne Kalichava, two young Georgian innovators, winners of a three-month scholarship in Italy at our headquarters, within the San Giovanni a Teduccio Technological Hub of the University of Naples “Federico II”.
After the presentation ceremony, a roundtable discussion among experts and innovators followed, focusing on the importance of international relations in the academic, political-diplomatic, commercial, and cultural spheres and the importance of increasingly close scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
During the workshop, our President - Dr. Vincenzo Lipardi - spoke to present the cooperation activities of SPICI with Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, and the possibilities of collaboration with Georgia.
