Yesterday for the successful closing ceremony of STEM Study Visit To Italy 2022, held in the main classroom of Apple Developer Academy at the Technological Pole of San Giovanni a Teduccio(Na), there was the presence of a guest of honour, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The programme, promoted by Cotec Foundation and Gita – Georgiàs Innovation and Technology Agency – in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Tbilisi and Materias, also sees the participation of the Spici team to promote and strengthen the experience of Georgian innovators in the field of technical-scientific research and to consolidate and expand the technology-based cooperation between Italy and Georgia.
“We are happy to have contributed to improve, through this three-month full immersion in digital innovation, the skills of two young Georgian innovators. And we are happy that one of their compatriots, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, testified with her presence how important and fundamental it is to be part of a team and to collaborate on the final result with team spirit. We will also try to broaden the programme to include Deep tech innovation, the knowledge-intensive innovations that can change the rules of the game,” Cotec chairman Luigi Nicolais opened the event with these words.
The event, realised thanks to the contribution of Materias, was moderated by Vera Viola, journalist of Sole 24 Ore. The various speeches took turns with the protagonists: Amedeo Manzo (Vice President of Spici), Giorgio Ventre (Scientific Director of the Apple Developer Academy), Enrico Valvo (Italian Ambassador to Georgia), Valeria Fascione (Councillor for Research, Innovation and Startups of the Campania Region), Avtandil Kasradze (President of GITA), Matteo Lorito (Rector of the University of Naples ‘Federico II’), Roberto Tottoli (Rector of the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’), Caterina Meglio, CEO of Materias.
Lots of fans and young students cheered the arrival of the player, who showed great affection and humility with his words: ‘When I first played at the Maradona Stadium, I really felt like a professional footballer, I thank Naples and the Neapolitans for this’.
The bond between Italy and Georgia was very close and the success of the event, which is preparing to hold its third edition next year, was consolidated. In conclusion, the speeches by the two young innovators Davit Danelia and Mariam Maisuradze thanked everyone for an intense educational and professional experience.
