The semi-final of the prestigious China Overseas Talents Competition 2024 took place in Naples on Sunday, May 26, at the Apple Developer Academy of the University of Naples Federico II.

The event, promoted by SPICI srl – Society for Innovation, Cooperation, and Internationalization, and the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN), was organized in collaboration with InnovUp, Italy China Council Foundation – ICCF, Italian Innovation Factory, and the University of Naples Federico II.

Out of 50 applications from innovative startups and SMEs from across the country, 17 innovative companies were selected to present their technological solutions to a panel of Chinese and Italian experts and investors.

In the introductory speeches by Dr. Vincenzo Lipardi, President of SPICI srl, and Dr. John Zhang, Secretary General of the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN), the strong desire and need to strengthen cooperation between Italy and China on topics that emerged during the Italy-China Entrepreneurial Dialogue Forum in Verona were emphasized. SPICI srl has years of experience in this field.

The 10 companies selected to participate in the final competition in July in China are:

  • ACT Blade Europe,
  • AITEM,
  • MinervaS,
  • SmartBug,
  • Airizon Biomedical Lab,
  • Circe A.I. Tech srl,
  • Soonapse srl,
  • Advanced Electronics, and
  • Biosystem.

These companies will receive a cash prize covering travel and expenses.
